MySQL Database - Overview

MySQL is a widespread open source database, which is characterized by speed and reliability. Depending on your Profi Server Package, you have access to 1 - 18 MySQL databases, except for the Profi Server Starter Package, which does not contain databases.
MyPHPAdmin serves as optimal addition. With the use of this tool you can manage your database(s) simply and efficiently.

MySQL Database Manager - Summary of Features

Installing MySQL

In order to install MySQL database(s) on your Profi Server open your Domaintechnik Control Panel and click on the button MySQL Database and then on Install. The MySQL database function will be installed within 10 minutes. After the installation you will find either your Database Manager or the phpMyAdmin user interface under the menu item MySQL Database in your Domaintechnik Control Panel, depending on the number of databases that are included in your webspace package:

After installing the database you will find the phpMyAdmin user interface here, displaying a test database and your own database, labeled uNumber_dbNumber, e.g. u69_db1.

If your Profi Server Package contains several databases, you will find a the Database Manager here, showing a list of available databases. In the Database Manager you can add and delete databases. In order to edit a database click on the corresponding name. Then the phpMyAdmin user interface will appear, showing the test database and all available databases, labeled as mentioned above.

Maintenance of your Database

Key Data:
User name: uNumber (database "u69_db1" => the user name reads as "u69")
Database name: uNumber_dbNumber (see phpMyAdmin and/or Database Manager)
Server name / host: localhost
Password: yourpassword (the same, as for access to your Domaintechnik Control Panel)

We recommend phpMyAdmin for the maintenance of your database(s). A detailed documentation can be found under: www.yourdomain.com/menu/mysqladmin/documentation.html
(Replace "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain name.)
