SSL Manager - Overview
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) enables browsers and servers to transmit encrypted information. This technology is used in eCommerce very often, i.e. for the transmission of strictly confidential data such as credit card numbers. If you have set up an online shop the use of SSL is strongly recommended, in order to protect your own data and the data of your customers.
Installing SSL
In order to activate SSL for your website, open your Domaintechnik Control Panel and click on the button https:// SSL and then on Install. After having installed SSL, check the SSL Manager, to find out the URL under which your website is accessible via SSL encryption (e.g. https://host5.ssl-secured.com/webtechnic_com).
Please Note:
The secure URL is only available for PHP scripts. If you want to use SSL encryption in combination with other script languages, you need a seperate SSL certificate for your domain. In case of need you can buy this seperate certificate from us.
